During its June board meeting, the Northern Soy Marketing (NSM) board elected officers for Fiscal Year 2027, which begins July 1. Minnesota farmer Glen Groth was reelected chair, and South Dakota farmer David Struck was reelected secretary/treasurer.
“Serving as chair has deepened my understanding of our key markets and how we can direct checkoff dollars to deliver the greatest return on investment for farmers,” said Groth, who farms near Ridgeway in southeast Minnesota. “I look forward to continuing our focus on key project areas, from meeting customers during international trade missions to bringing them to our farms on our crop tour to learn about our farming methods and see the quality of our soybeans firsthand.”

Groth farms with his wife, Melinda, in southeastern Minnesota, where they grow soybeans and corn and raise hay and dairy heifers. A director with the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council, Groth has served on NSM since 2021 and as chair since 2024.
Struck, who farms near Wolsey, S.D., was reelected NSM secretary/treasurer. He has represented South Dakota on the NSM board since 2020.
“I’m eager to continue helping soybean growers in our member states of Minnesota and South Dakota have their own voice,” Struck said.
In addition to officer elections, NSM’s June board meeting included budget reviews, administrative reports and a recap of Fiscal Year 2026. NSM is focused on building on momentum from FY26 and continuing to promote the nutritional and financial advantages of northern-grown soy.
