Everyone wants the cream of the crop.
That’s why when international feed companies need soy, they buy northern-grown U.S. soy.
Minh Thanh Cao, “David,” from the Vietnam-based company 3A Trading, knows that purchasing soy from the northern U.S. states of Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin means he’ll be receiving a reliable product.
“When we first decided to buy U.S. soy, we found that the quality and sources have a stable quality and regularly,” David said.
3A focuses on importing raw material for feed and food usage like soybeans, soymeal, corn, wheat and DDGs. To keep customers satisfied, 3A turns to the red, white and blue.
“Our customers need a stable supply and good quality, so we keep buying U.S. soy,” David said.
As a collaboration of farmer leaders from the northern U.S. of Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin, Northern Soy Marketing (NSM) promotes the quality, consistency and reliability of northern-grown soybeans and soymeal. In October 2024, David participated in NSM’s Crop Tour, which brought attendees to multiple farms across the Upper Midwest before ending the tour in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) with visits to the Port of Seattle and AGP’s export facility at Grays Harbor.
“We import U.S. soybeans regularly as our customers demand,” David said. “Compared to soy sourced from other countries, U.S. soy has reliable suppliers and good, stable quality.”
